The publication written by the experienced cinematographer Marek Jícha is devoted to the definition of the functions and effects of the camera tools used in film production. It contains a new theory of 12 camera tools (camera, movement, frame, narrator and subjective view, image composition, shot sizes and spatial resolution, depth of field and spatial appearance of the image, color circle, rhythm of image structure, shapes and image illusions, axes and angles, light and shadow) that can help filmmakers achieve perfection in their craft.
